This page highlights a curated selection of the promotional and informational materials I have created to support recruitment, student success, and campus engagement. These materials reflect a commitment to clear communication, audience-focused design, and measurable outcomes.
Strategic Approach
Each piece was developed with a specific purpose in mind—whether to increase student participation, guide faculty and advisors, or raise the profile of programs and events. I strive to create materials that are visually compelling, highly legible, and aligned with institutional branding.

These materials have contributed to measurable outcomes, including increased placement-exam participation, improved advising efficiency, and enhanced visibility for departmental programs and initiatives.
Careers Beyond the Classroom
I designed and produced this infographic to address one of the most frequent questions from students and parents: “What can you do with a language degree besides teaching?” I felt it was important to visualize the dozens of careers—spanning business, government, service industries, arts and media, and travel and tourism—that language skills could open. With this tool, I equipped faculty and advisors with a clear, persuasive resource to demonstrate the diverse and lucrative opportunities that language study can unlock.

STEM Meets World Languages
This series of digital posters was displayed in STEM-focused campus buildings to spark curiosity about language study. Each poster highlighted the contributions of German-speaking scientists to fields like geology, mathematics, and physics, inviting students to see language learning as a pathway to deeper engagement with their disciplines and to global opportunities. Similar campaigns were planned for French and Spanish figures in literature, history, and media studies.

Global Investment, Local Impact
This series of infographics illustrates the billions of dollars international partners have invested in Tennessee, the thousands of jobs they support, and the fields of study they actively recruit. By connecting language learning to concrete economic opportunities, these materials underscore how global engagement directly benefits students’ future careers and the state’s workforce.

Showcasing the Curriculum
This visual guide presents the full range of courses offered by the Department of Foreign Languages, making it easy for students and advisors to see how language study can complement their academic paths. Designed for a STEM-focused campus, this resource highlights the department’s breadth and invites students to explore humanities courses as part of a well-rounded education.

Campus-Wide Prior Learning Credit Campaign
This promotional poster was part of a coordinated campus-wide campaign—including yard signs and digital signage—strategically deployed during summer orientation and preview days. By highlighting the opportunity to earn up to 12 free credit hours for prior language study, the campaign piqued the interest of students and parents alike. The result was a 27% increase in placement test requests, making this one of the department’s most effective recruitment initiatives.

Promoting a Unique Joint Program
This one-sheet introduces Tennessee Tech’s International Business and Cultures major, a distinctive program in the region that combines business training with language and cultural study. Created to clarify program details and attract prospective students, I designed this flyer to distribute at recruitment events and campus visits.

Building Community Through Conversation
As advisor of the university’s German Club, I organized and promoted regular conversation hours to give students a relaxed, supportive space to practice their language skills outside the classroom. I designed these visually striking posters to catch students’ attention and make the events feel welcoming and engaging—helping transform language practice into a social highlight and strengthening the sense of community among language learners.

Turning Placement Tests into Pathways
I designed these vouchers as part of a targeted effort to increase requests for the language placement exam. After analyzing data showing that students who earned prior learning credit were most likely to declare a language minor or major, I prioritized promoting the test to prospective students and their parents. By coordinating with the admissions team to distribute vouchers at summer orientation, we maximized visibility and encouraged students to take the first step toward advanced study.
